Wizards to Host Free Open Practice on Columbus Day
WASHINGTON, D.C. – The Washington Wizards will host their annual open practice for fans on Monday, Oct. 12 (Columbus Day), at Verizon Center at noon.
Fans are encouraged to arrive at 11:30 am to take part in various concourse activities such as face painting, poster making and inflatable games. Ennis Whatley and Awvee Storey, members of the Bullets & Wizards Alumni Association will be signing autographs on the concourse. The Wizard Girls and G-Wiz will also be on hand. Fans will be invited to enter the arena at 11:45 am and enjoy the open practice from 12 pm-1 pm. Following practice, all children 14 and under are invited down to the main court to take a free throw.
The event is free and open to the public.
Prior to the open practice, the Alumni Association will host an invitation-only Jr. NBA clinic from 11:00 am-12:00 pm for Wizards Kids Club members and select community groups located in the metropolitan area.
