Soundgarden Headlines 2013 DC101 Chili Cook-Off on RFK Stadium Festival Grounds

WASHINGTON, D.C. - Fresh off a performance at President Barack Obama's Inaugural Ball in January, Soundgarden returns to Washington, D.C. to headline the 2013 DC101 Chili Cook-Off, set to be held on the RFK Stadium Festival Grounds on Saturday, May 4. D.C.'s biggest one-day rock festival will also feature performances from Awolnation, Silversun Pickups, Capital Cities, Beware of Darkness and RDGLDGRN. Gates open at 12 p.m.

Tickets go on sale this Friday, and will be available at the RFK Stadium Box Office weekdays from 10 a.m. - 2 p.m., LiveNation.com, all Ticketmaster outlets and charge by phone (800) 745-3000. Tickets are $25 for Early Bird Special (limited time only), $46 for advance sales and $65 at the gate on the day of the event (plus applicable service fees).

In support of the National Kidney Foundation's programs in research, patient services, education and organ donation awareness, last year's DC101 Chili Cook-Off drew 31,000 fans, and raised more than $1.3 million to fight kidney disease in the region.

True to its name, the Chili Cook-Off also features an intense competition between 101 chili cooks in four categories: Red Chili, Green Chili, Freestyle and Salsa.

The RFK Stadium Festival Grounds are easily accessible by Metrorail on the Blue and Orange lines (Stadium-Armory station) and numerous bus lines. On-site parking is also available.
