DC Neighborhood Heritage Trails
Year Round
Washington DC's Neighborhood Heritage Trails are the official walking trails of Washington, DC. These self-guided walking tours provide a glimpse into the rich diversity of the District's neighborhoods, past and present.
Community Grants
FY 2027
Events DC is dedicated to supporting the local non-profit community. Every year, we offer two cycles of community grants to support non-profit organizations in Washington, DC that promote youth participation in both the arts and athletics. Community Grants Cycle 1 FY2027 is open with a submission deadline of August 3, 2026.

Community Cooldown

Summer is all about making memories, connecting with your community and enjoying everything the District has to offer. The Community Cooldown Summer Series is bringing free sweets, music and family-friendly activities to all 8 Wards.
Camp Zen

Events DC Camp Zen is a free outdoor community event for all ages centered around holistic healing and development in Ward 8. It takes place at the Gateway Pavilion, which features a variety of fun outdoor camp activations including a petting zoo, yoga, arts, crafts and many more!
Art All Night
September 12, 2026
Every year, Art All Night celebrates the performing and visual arts of Washington, DC. Embark on a vibrant cultural journey at the Events DC’s Art All Night festivities on the Carnegie Library East and West Lawns.
Costume Carnival
October 30, 2026
Join Events DC at Costume Carnival at the Gateway Pavilion on the campus of St. Elizabeths. This is a family-friendly outdoor Halloween celebration, and it’s open to the public with music and festive activities. We encourage families with children of all ages to dress as their favorite characters for a chance to win the costume contest.
Safeway Feast of Sharing
November 2026
For more than two decades, our partnership with Safeway, Inc. on the annual Feast of Sharing at the Walter E. Washington Convention Center celebrates the spirit of giving on Thanksgiving Eve by serving hot holiday meals, donating new winter coats and accessories (while supplies last), offering free health screenings and providing access to city services.
Legends Game Nights
November 2026
Game on, Golden Years! District residents aged 60 and older are invited to a fun-filled event with prizes, including dancing, classic board and card games, digital and arcade games, crafts, food and more.
Volunteer Appreciation Day
December 2026
Volunteers have played a vital role in the success of Passport DC, WalkingTown, Day of Play, Costume Carnival, Art All Night and other events. In celebration of International Volunteer Day (December 5), Events DC hosts Volunteer Appreciation Day!
Day of Play
April 16, 2027
Every year, during the Spring Break, Events DC hosts Day of Play at RFK, a day to enjoy with friends, family and neighbors. This free, field-based event to gather adults and youth in Washington, DC for a day of fun, friendly competition. It will feature music, food trucks and activities for all ages.
Winter Wonderland
December 2026
Established in 1998, Winter Wonderland is an annual fun-filled children’s holiday event featuring interactive arts and crafts, festive seasonal treats, costumed characters, a gift for each child and spreads the joy of the season to attendees of all ages.
Nonprofit Resource Fair
May 2027
The core values of effective community programming are to regularly conduct evaluations, identify funding support, manage legal agreements and efficiently communicate with target audiences. Our general workshops for nonprofits will provide information on funding, communication tactics, community engagement and legal support. We will host two Resource Fairs: one on May 19 at the RISE Demonstration Center, and another on May 21 at the Walter E. Washington Convention Center. Registration is required.
Dog Days of Summer
Summer 2027
Bring your four-legged friend and join us for a tail-wagging good time at Dog Days of Summer! We’re celebrating the International Dog Day with an event featuring pup-friendly activities, treats, splash zones and more. It’s the paw-fect way to enjoy the outdoors with your best friend.
